Calgary Food Bank Food Hamper Registration

Please read the following instructions:

  1. The Calgary Food Bank is here to support during times of food insecurity. We ask for the following:
    • Clients can receive a food hamper 10 days after they picked up their last hamper. For example, if you received a hamper on the 1st of the month, your next eligible booking will be on the 11th of the same month. 
    • We understand every situation is unique. We will ask about your financial situation, but do take into account other factors impacting peoples lives.
  2. Call us for registration support at 403-253-2055, our volunteers are happy to support. Reasons you may need to call:
    • Booking an alternate location
    • Have questions about your family or eligibility qualifications
    • If you need to reschedule a previously booked appointment 
  3. Fill in all personal information on the form so that we can identify you when you arrive. 
    • Please ensure you fill in information for each member of your household. This impacts the size of your hamper.
    • On arrival you will be required to present identification for all members of your household to verify the information provided:
      1. Please present photo ID for household members over 18 
      2. Please present any ID for household members under 18
      3. Pictures of the ID (on your phone) is acceptable
  4. If you have a baby under the age of 12 months you can request baby products
  5. If you have an infant between the ages of 13 and 36 months, you can request diapers sizes 1-6
  6. If you have additional requests like hygiene, household items, pet supplies; these will need to requested at the time of pick up. They are not guaranteed items. They are only available when we have received donations to support

Welcome to the Calgary Food Bank. Before we proceed with your online registration, it's important that we review key information.

  1.  Purpose of Services: Our food bank provides assistance to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity. We offer food support to help you meet your needs during difficult times.
  2. Confidentiality: We respect your privacy. Any personal information you provide will be kept confidential and used solely for the purpose of providing you with food assistance. We do not share your information with outside parties without your consent, except as required by law.
  3. Rights and Responsibilities:
    • You have the right to be treated with respect and dignity at all times.
    • You have the responsibility to treat our staff and volunteers with the same respect and dignity while speaking with our team or when visiting our facilities.
    • You have the responsibility to provide accurate information about your household’s circumstances and food needs.
    • You are responsible for using the food provided in a safe and appropriate manner.
    • You must adhere to the guidelines and distribution schedule of our food bank and the appointment you request when registering.
  4. Limits of Services: Our food bank provides supplemental food assistance. While we strive to accommodate dietary preferences and restrictions, we may not always be able to meet specific needs due to variations in donations and availability.
  5. Consent: By agreeing to access our services, you acknowledge that you understand the information provided in this script. You consent to the collection and use of your personal information for the purpose of receiving food assistance from us.

Household Information


We will be asking about all members of the household included in the food hamper. The primary member is the person who is booking the hamper.



Please select "Yes" ONLY if you work for an agency and are requesting on behalf of a client. Note that you will need to create separate hamper requests for each client.




Public Transportation
Due to the impact of traffic and weather on the traffic system, we highly recommend transit users schedule pickup times before 6pm on Monday - Thursday, before 3pm on Friday and before 1:30pm on Saturday. This ensures transit users will NOT miss their appointments and will have ample time to check-in and receive their food.

Taking Transit
The #30 bus stops right outside our building both on the east and west sides. The #30 bus can be picked up at the 39th Avenue Station along the Redline - South LRT line. The average time between the station and drop off at our building is about 20 minutes. The return time to the station is about 30 minutes.

Please ensure you provide a valid and updated email address. We will be sending a confirmation email with scheduled date, time and QR code at the end of our registration process. you will also be receiving an additional reminder email 24 hours prior to your pickup date and time.

This is hidden because CFB decided to wait to roll this out in a later phase when it can actually be actioned on intake.
We will ask for the financial information for each person in the household, this is the total income (how much each person made) for the last 30 days which helps to determine the eligibility for a food hamper. We will also ask about expenses for the last 30 days. This information will be entered once for the entire household in the Monthly
Expenses section below. We ask for the information this way because we recognize that each person earns funds separately, however in many cases funds are spent together, especially on items like rent, phone & internet, etc.

Income for this individual is required, as long as the individual is 18 or older. We collect individual income information for the last 30 days to understand the complete picture of the household to determine eligibility for a food hamper.








You are expected to arrive on the day and time that you schedule. Due to the high volume of clients who require our services we schedule precise days and times to help support as many appointments as possible. 

If you need to reschedule your appointment or are going to miss your appointment please call our team at 403-253-2055 to cancel.

You will receive an email confirmation with your chosen day and time. You will also receive a reminder 24 hours prior to your pickup time.
